Membership
Individuals
can enroll themselves as members of the Media Lab either as
an artist members, corporate members or lab partners.
Each membership has an up-front cost, and in turn each one has a number
of perks such as:
- Mail-out or email-out of newsletter.
- Reduced fees on rental of Medial Lab equipment.
- Opportunities for screening works, production
projects for media art group events
- Lowered price for entry to screenings.
- Member’s rates for workshops, talks
etc.
- Email announcements of upcoming events and
pertinent information.
- Eligibility for in-house production grants

Membership Details / Access
Privileges
Individual Membership
Associate/Artist Producer -
$30
- entitled to membership access privileges as
determined by the Board of Directors
- entitled to vote at all meetings of members
- entitled to be elected to the Board and sit as
Chair of Board Committees
Unlimited Associate/Artist
Producer Fee - $90/yr
- entitled to the same privileges as
Associate/Artist Producer plus unlimited use of
editing suites limited to three hour sessions. This does not include
rentals for
production equipment (i.e. cameras, lights, sound equipment or
presentation
equipment.)
Student Producer - $30
- must be post-secondary student with valid
student card
- one year membership only (cannot be renewed at
student level)
- entitled to membership access privileges as
determined by the Board of Directors
- entitled to vote at all meetings of members
- entitled to be elected to the Board and sit as
Chair of Board Committees
Unlimited Access Student Fee
- $75/yr
- entitled to same privileges as a Student
Produce plus unlimited use of editing suites
limited to three hour sessions. This does not include rentals for
production
equipment (i.e. cameras, lights, sound equipment or presentation
equipment.)
Affiliated Memberships
Corporate Affiliate (Group
Affiliated) - $150
- not entitled to vote at meetings of members
- not entitled to be elected to the Board and/or
sit as Chair of Board Committees
- entitled to membership access privileges as
determined by the Board of Directors
- participation in all Media Lab projects and
productions as accredited sponsors if the Corporate Affiliate
participated in the production
- Entitled to Artist Producer Media Lab equipment
and facility rental rates if participating in a community-based or arts
event or production
Media Lab Partners
(Non-profit Group Affiliated) - $250
- entitled to vote at meetings of members
- entitled to elected a representative to the
Board and/or sit as Chair of Board Committees
- entitled to membership access privileges as
determined by the Board of Directors
- entitled to Media Lab rental access and project
use of all Media Lab facilities (maximum of 2 projects per year) as
determined by the Board of Directors
All members using the editing suites are required to have their own
external hard drive to save projects.
The Media Lab is not responsible for projects/data lost or deleted
during regular computer lab maintenance.
