What is N2M2L?

The Near North Mobile Media Lab is a sixteen foot converted travel trailer that has been retrofitted to house a number of pieces of technical equipment for the making of “electronic arts”. The goal of the Mobile Media Lab is to encourage the growth of the contemporary in the north by making technologies available to artists.

The Lab houses top of the line “prosumer” equipment to create audio, video, digital imagery, film, digital animation and photography. The use of the equipment is intended for a broad base of artists, from beginner, to emerging as well as for the experienced whilst solving geographic barriers in Northern Ontario.

By providing new technologies for artists in the Near North region, the Mobile Media Lab is enabling new productions and explorations of the medias at hand and thus, encouraging the growth of media based art outside of the large centers in Ontario.

NEW Media Lab Hours:
Tuesday - Friday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday NIGHT 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 12:00 NOON to 5:00 p.m.
